Overview

Charlotte’s Web is one of the best known CBD brands on the market today. Founded by the Stanley brothers, Charlotte’s Web is named after Charlotte Figi, a young girl with Dravet Syndrome. As a result from this rare medical condition, she suffered from hundreds of seizures every week. Out of desperation, Charlotte’s parents turned to cannabis with high CBD and low THC to treat Charlotte’s seizures. After using CBD, the number of seizures Charlotte was having was essentially reduced to zero. The Stanley brothers were so moved by the results that they named their company after the young girl. Here’s a more in-depth backstory.

I hope you enjoy this Charlotte’s Web CBD oil review! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Appearance, Taste, and Smell

The appearance of the oil is a light golden brown, which is normal for CBD oils extracted using the CO2 method. Generally, the more processed a CBD oil is the lighter the color will be. Less processed CBD oils tend to be dark brown, gold, or green.

I’ve tried their chocolate mint and lemon twist flavored tinctures so far. Both smell and taste amazing. The chocolate mint smells like minty maple syrup and the lemon twist has a faint lemony smell. If you don’t like the taste of chocolate, mint, or lemon, they offer a plain, olive oil flavored tincture as well.

Effectiveness

My Charlotte’s Web CBD dosage has been around 60 mg. I usually take Charlotte’s Web CBD oil for sleep a few hours before bed. Whenever I take CBD oil, I hold it under my tongue for a good minute before swallowing. There are blood vessels and capillaries under our tongues that are able to absorb the CBD and other cannabinoids. This allows some of the CBD to bypass our liver and digestive system and go straight into our bloodstream. Within a couple of hours the effects really kick in. Charlotte’s Web makes you feel like butter, melting on top of a big ole pile of flapjacks. It is the best CBD oil I have tried so far. Since it is a full-spectrum product, it produces the entourage effect, making it much more effective than isolated CBD.

In my opinion, Charlottes Web is ideal for:

  • Anxiety/stress relief
  • Muscle relaxation
  • Muscle/joint soreness
  • Sleep

Suggested Use

As with every CBD product, there is no standard dose and some experimentation required to determine the best dose for you. Generally, I recommend starting with 25-50 mg and adjusting from there. The effects can take up to 3 hours to kick in, so please keep that in mind.

Everyone is wired differently. How CBD affects one person will be different from how it affects another.

Price

Charlotte’s Web offers four different strengths of CBD oil. As with most CBD oils out there, you pay less per mg the larger the dose. These are the prices before applying the discount code CBDREVIEWLAB:

  • 7 mg formula: $39.99
  • 17 mg formula: $74.99
  • 50 mg formula: $149.99
  • 60 mg formula: $164.99

To get the best bang for your buck, get their 100 ml 60 mg formula. It is a bit more expensive up front, but you pay less per mg of CBD.

Certificate of Analysis

All Charlotte’s Web products are third-party lab tested by Eurofins Food Chemistry Testing in Madison, WI. They test for cannabinoids, microbials, residual solvents, heavy metals, and pesticides. After reviewing the lab results there were no red flags. So you can have some peace of mind knowing Charlotte’s Web offers a safe and clean product.

You can find a certificate of analysis for every Charlotte’s Web product by visiting the batch reports section of their website. For reference, you can look up the batch number from one the products I ordered: A000838.

Ordering, Shipping and Returns

You can order Charlotte’s Web products on their website and in select stores. I had a very positive experience using their website. It is one of the best designed CBD websites out there and it is very easy to use. As such, I would avoid ordering Charlotte’s Web CBD oil from Amazon. Since their products contain less than .3% THC, they ship to all 50 states. They also ship to Canada if you qualify. Orders are restricted to olive oil based products due to Health Canada’s restrictions on product flavoring.

Orders are usually processed within a couple of days and will arrive within seven days depending on the time of year.

Charlotte’s Web packaging is top-notch. All their products are well sealed and tamper proof.

They have a 30 day return policy, so if their product doesn’t meet your expectations, you can send it back for a new product or a full refund. This says a lot about Charlotte’s Web and the confidence in their product.

Frequently Asked Questions

Simply squirt your preferred dose under your tongue and hold it there for a minute. The CBD is able to enter the bloodstream via the salivary glands and varicose veins under the tongue. Then swallow the CBD and within a couple hours the effects will start to kick in.

In short, YES! If taken in a large enough dose, Charlotte’s Web CBD can get you high.

Unlike THC, CBD by itself does not make a person feel “high” or intoxicated. That’s because CBD and THC act in different ways on different receptors in the brain and body. However, if you take a large dose of a full-spectrum CBD product like Endoca, the effects can be indistinguishable from being high. Most Charlottes Web CBD oil reviews will say otherwise, but it’s just not true.

There are still many cannabinoids in the cannabis plant that have yet to be studied, and the “high” you get from cannabis may not just be from THC.

While Charlotte’s Web CBD is made from the hemp plant and is federally legal, it is a full-spectrum product. This means that it contains 100+ cannabinoids, including a small amount of THC (less than .3%). So it’s quite possible you may fail a drug test if you take Charlotte’s Web.

If you are subject to drug testing, whether at work or for a sport, you should be cautious with all CBD products.

Yes. The 2018 Farm Bill removed hemp from the legal definition of marijuana in the Controlled Substances Act. This made some hemp-derived CBD products with less than 0.3 percent THC federally legal. However, CBD products containing more than 0.3 percent THC still fall under the legal definition of marijuana, making them federally illegal but legal under some state laws. Be sure to check state laws, especially when traveling.

No, Charlotte’s Web does not have an Amazon store. The best and safest way to order their products is through their website.
